The Weekly AT Snapshot - 5/18/2007

"Zed" to Promote Titan

Sean Connery has agreed to take on the mantle of his most beloved character Zed to promote the release of the classic Ameritrash boardgame Titan. Connery, garbed in signature red underwear and suspenders, will visit suburban malls to bring America's "lost generation" of Titan players back to the table. Connery also hopes to promote the latest installment in the Zardoz series, "Zardoz 4: Revenge of the Stoned Hippies". Look for Zed in a mall near you!

This week's snapshot was submitted by "Macho Man" Mike Chapel.

Calling all photoshoppers and imagehounds! The Weekly AT Snapshot wants YOUR images! You send the picture, we add the back-story!

If you've got a great image that just screams Ameritrash, email us the image or a URL. It can be an image you created or an image you found on the web. We don't care! If it meets our strict quality standards, we'll publish it in The Weekly AT Snapshot, instantly making you an undeniable global celebrity. We'll even pimp your website if you send us the URL for that. Send all submissions to fortressat@gmail.com with the word "Snapshot" in the subject line.

"latest installment in the Zardoz series"-

Now _that's_ comedy, my friends.

I wish FFG would get the license to ZARDOZ. They could make a giant cardboard head that dispenses counters for everything in the game.

You FFG folks listening? This has "blockbuster" written all over it.

Eeek! I thought the wedding dress was retina scarring. I'd manage to totally block the red suspenders.

Fun fact: This is actually a photograph of Mike Chapel in his "gamin' getup".

BTW..You used the wrong one I sent. This one has the grammatical error one it. I sent a second copy.

Besides that Fuck ya! Nothing beats a snug pair of Depends for a long night of gaming or a road trip to Houston with a shovel, and some rope, and some duct tape, a stabby knife...Bitch took my rocketman...

I don't see any gramatical error.

Care to explain the thigh-highs?

Yeah, I don't see any grammatical errors...he's saying that his "pecks", which is the WILLOW derogatory slang term for the hobbits- um- I mean, Daikinee. Chapel has enslaved them, threatening them with that Colt Peacemaker and forcing them to carry stacks of TITAN for him so that he doesn't rip his lingerie.

Oy. I have not seen this Zardoz, and I think this makes me happy.

I am also glad to not be involved in the design dept in any way shape or fashion. (Other than the occational lunch game or hanging out after work.) Eeew. You would think Sean Connery had enough money to buy up all the existing copies of that and make it go away.

Putting the "Tight" back in "Tightan"...

Interestingly, the film is directed by John Boorman, who also brought us EXCALIBUR, POINT BLANK, HOPE AND GLORY, and THE EMERALD FOREST.

Oh, and DELIVERANCE.

Man, even Sean Connery can't make that look good. The goggles do nothing!

No film which contains the line "The gun is good. The penis is evil." can be all bad.

I've been enjoying the weekly snapshot in a strange sort of way. (How else?)

Over on BGG in the thread It Happens Every Time: Inevitable Events In Our Gaming Group (http://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/21737) we have a request for a Fortress America picture. Dan says "The tractor that gets retooled into an attack helicopter! I'd pay anything to see what that would actually look like."

I'd take the "pay anything" with a massive pinch of salt however, as he's fairly new with only 3.5 GeekGold...

And I trust the website project will include a similar virtual economy? You could call it F:AT Farthings!

The typo works if you imagine Connery has a cold.
